On today's show we had a call in guest, Jeff Spalding from Caracal USA. He gave us a breakdown of some of the new systems that are coming out from Caracal in the next year or so as well as a brief overview of what he does for Team Caracal. We also touched on the recall issued by Caracal on their pistols imported into the US so far. On today's show we had guests John, and Sam (Glen's father) on the show to share their views on how military equipment has changed over the years. Sam shared some of his experiences from Vietnam about gear and standard load outs. John went over the evolution of military body armor from flak vests to IOTV's, and his personal experiences with it in Iraq and Afghanistan. We rapped up todays show by asking the guys what they think some of the greatest advancements are in military equipment. The best answer we heard was the adaptability of the American Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marines. On todays show we had Glen and Brian talking about some of the items people often overlook when preparing for an emergency situation. We also discussed what we think some of the necessary items are for just about any survival situation. It doesn't have to be a zombie apocalypse or the russians to be an emergency. Some of the relevant situation we discussed include forest fires, earthquakes, and even riots. Also on today's show we were commercial free thanks to our friends over at AR500 Armor. On today show we were joined by fellow Independence Training Instructor Brian who shared his views on EDC. Glen opened up by sharing some current events from the last week, like the Air National Guard unauthorized overflight of a halloween party. There are going to be some serious safety breifs for all Guard and Reserve soldiers next drill. We discussed just how important mind set can be when dealing with a non permissive enviroment and how important it is be be prepared. A large part of todays show was given over to unconventional/improvised weapons and the justification for using one. Join us next time as we go over Deep Cover Concealment as it relates to Firearms.
