Real world Medical Expertise

Today we had Rebecca, Alison and Ryan on the show to share with us their different perspectives on medical training and its application in the real world. We got some very different insights about aspects of medical training in different environments. Rebecca shared her perspective coming from the civilian side of medical training and Ryan shared some of his military experiences and how they differ from his civilian experience. Alison informed us about the more clinical side to real world medicine. Finally Glen ranted about the latest thing he doesn't agree with for who knows how long. Real EDC

Today on The Arms Room we talked about EDC and what that really means. Strapping a pistol on your hip and walking around town because it makes you feel big is not EDC. EDC is all about having the tools you need at any given time to survive and become an asset. We went over what Glen, John and I carry for our EDC and we noticed that there are a lot of similarities between what we carry. Some common themes include lights, pistols, keys and medical supplies. Episode 123: Training Gear

In today's show we discuss training gear.  Things that you should have ready for training are, Training Bag, Eye/Ear protection, Hygiene items such as Wet wipes, sunscreen and Gum.  Bring tools and extra parts for your gun and don't be afraid to bring an extra gun.

Shotgun Myths

Today we were graced with Rebecca's presence on the show and truly blessed with Glen's lack of presence on the show. We were supposed to spend the show chatting about shotguns but without Glen here to hurt us we had some freedom as to the topic. Shotguns are some of the least understood weapon systems in the world today. There are way too many myths about their use and it's difficult to separate them from fact. Shotguns are NOT a point and click interface, you do have to aim a shotgun. Be sure to join us next show to hear about range bags and what you should put in them.

Shooting Competitions

Today we welcomed Danielle on the show to talk with us about Competitive shooting. Danielle has been involved in the shooting sports for 3 years now and has competed in a wide range of competitions. She talked with us about whats its like being a woman in a male dominated world of shooting sports as well as how she got her start in the shooting world. Glen also shared a few of his experiences shooting competition and his thoughts on competitive shooting as a way to hone your skills. In this episode we have our Veterans roundtable.  We have Veterans Bobby, Bill and Matt join us in studio and we talk everything from, Russian solider that called in a airstrike on himself, Road rage, Fast food workers, raising kids to Bobby asking Matt on a man date!  If having fun was a crime we'd all be in trouble! give this a listen. 

Growing up around Firearms

Today we had Lily, one of our instructors daughter's on the show to talk with us about whats it's like growing up around firearms. Lily talked with us about what she thinks firearms are used for and how they are involved in her everyday life. She told us about firearms safety and how she learned to handle firearms. Lily also shared with us some info about the 2nd Amendment and aha it means to her and her family. AK vs. AR (kinda)

On today's show we were blessed to have Glen away so that John and I could actually get a word in edgewise. We started off the show with our usual current events talk covering the Belgian and French police officers kicking ISIS doors down in Europe and the election protesters blocking roads right here in AZ. Then we dove right in and started off dispelling some of the myths about the age old AR vs AK argument. The difference in accuracy between the two within 200 meters is negligible, and chance are the average person won't ever shoot out past 200 meters anyway.
