Hexmag What makes an excellent mag?

Today we heard from the guys over at Hexmag about what makes their mags the best in the industry. John and Glen went over their criteria for an effective magazine. Number one, the magazeine must reliably feed ammunition into the weapon system. Number 2, it has to look cool while doing it. Hexmags manage to do both of those thing and do them really well. They are the first fully customizable magazine on the market and well worth taking a look at. Red Dot Glocks

Today we had our good friend Russell in the studio to talk with us about the use of red dot Glocks and their use. Glen chimed in with his experiences from his recent class with Suarez International about Red Dot Glocks. Some major concensus seemed to be that red dots on pistols work great for certain people and not so great for others. People with vision trouble should look into putting a red dot on their pistol. Line Gear

Today the topic of discussion was Line Gear and what goes into it. We opened by talking about building your line gear based around your skill set. Its all well and good to have a ton of high speed gear set up for use but if don't know how to use it, it won't do a lot of good. Its also important to train with the gear you plan on using so you know what works and what does not. Lastly we finished up by talking about what gear should actually go into your line gear. The Fighting Rifle

Today we took our time before getting on topic by talking about Capt. Matthew D. Roland and Staff Sgt. Forrest B. Sibley two airmen assigned to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron who were killed in Afghanistan this past week. People are still out there fighting and dying never forget that. We ended on a more positive note by talking about the two ohio police officers we used a tourniquet to save a mans life. Then we jumped into what it takes to make a fighting rifle i.e. what should go in to a good fighting rifle. Be sure to join us next show to hear about practical line gear setup and application.

Home Defense/Security

Today we had John and Glen talking about some of the things you can do to make your home safer. Anything from home security cameras to simple things like owning a dog. We also talked about some of the myths surrounding home defense such as our favorite just pump the shotgun and the bad guys will go away. What should go into your med kit???

On today's show we had Rebecca on the show to talk with us about what should go into a med kit. Rebecca has over 15 years of experience as a paramedic. Glen went over what he believes are his five most important items that should be in a kit from tournequet to gauze. One of the more unusual things that goes into kit is unprocessed honey sticks which contain micro antibacterials. The Round Table

Today we had our friend Cecil Burch on the show for our round table. We went over some controversial topics such as favorite gun store myth, favorite go to fighting move and favorite workout. Cecil talked about his preferred method of dealing with a combat in a hands on fight. John talked about his dislike of the gun store myths out there reguarding shotguns. Glen informed us that hiking is his preferred way to stay in shape when the situation permits. LRK Mechanical

On today's show we had the guys from LRK Mechanical on to talk with us about the difference between long range and precision shooting. During the show we learned about the effects the crown of the barrel can have on accuracy. We also learned a plethora of big words associated with making a gun a truly precision platform. You can't just take a remmington 700 off the shelf and expect sub MOA accuracy, it takes professionals like the gentlemen at LRK to make it a rifle truly capable of that kind of accuracy. He shared with us his perspective on getting into the world of armor as someone who doesn't come from the armed lifestyle. Functional Fitness

Today we talked about functional fitness and how you can incorporate it into your everyday life. It doesn't have to be your standard push-ups, sit-ups and a run. It is possible to make everyday activities into fitness opportunities. You don't have to do this crossfit, p90X and zumba stuff to stay in shape. Another great way to stay fit for parents is to go out and play with the kids this is great for two reason, it keeps you fit and it also sets a good example for your children.
