Today on The Arms Room Glen dropped some knowledge about Optics, Red Dots and Reticles on us. We also briefly talked about how to select the right optic for you and your needs. Bear in mind that this show isn't nearly long enough to get into the everything you need to know about optics but we gave you a good head start. Glen also shared his opinion on the magnifiers that we see people bolt on their weapons, its not a positive one. Today we were lucky to have our good friend Cecil on the show with us to talk about failure in training and why its important. Without failure there is no way to judge improvement. In the firearms world we call it mental masturbation when shooters only do what they are good at. It is important to set a standard for yourself so that when you train you have a benchmark to surpass.Without failure there is no improvement. Today we talked with Glen and John about how to make a well rounded gun collection and how you can make money buying guns. Glen shared some of his secrets to help prevent you from losing money when purchasing firearms. A big take away from this show is to avoid purchasing your weapons at gun stores and gun shows. Always be aware of whom you purchase your weapons from and your local laws regarding the private sale of firearms. Today on The Arms Room we had Mike from Ryker Nylon Gear on the show to talk with us about his A.F.A.K and the importance of medical training and having the supplies you need on your person when you need them. The majority of people that get involved in the training world start out with firearms and thats ok, just be sure to balance out your training. You are infinitely more likely to use medical training at some point in your life than you are to slay bodies with your firearms. Training and knowledge trump high speed hear 9 times out of 10. Today on The Arms Room John and Mason talked about everyday armor and dispelled some myths about things that will and won't stop bullets. We also briefly touched on America kicking some international butt in the olympics, Go Team USA. Cars do NOT stop bullets, Engine blocks do so if a car is all you have then be sure to hide behind the engine block and front wheel well. Body armor can be taken just about anywhere but be sure to check your local laws regarding its use and ownership. Today on The Arms Room Show we had the founder of the Under the Shield Foundation, Susan on the show to talk with us about what they do for Veterans, Law Enforcement and even Firefighters and EMS. They provide a place for all those previously mentioned people to vent some of their frustration and stress that comes from dealing with the things we see on a daily basis. Susan also talked with us about the types of stress that people in these jobs deal with and the effects it can have on us. Susan is a no BS kind of woman who has dealt with this stuff for years so please if you need to vent or chat with someone giver her a call at 334-324-3570. Today we did a live broadcast at TASER International and got a chance to dispel some of the myths surrounding the use of tasers and their effects on people. It was a great show with a ton of useful information for anyone who may potentially come into contact with tasers. As an added treat everyone who tuned in live got the chance to see the show producer himself, Mason get tased with the newest taser on the market for military and law enforcement use. Thank you to all the guys at TASER International that made this possible and a special thanks to one of our students who is also a TASER employee and took a taser shot live on camera along with myself.
